Paths

As we navigate all that is involved in moving from a town I’ve lived in since 1968, we are carving so many new paths, avoiding some, seeing the brilliance in others, managing emotions (and things!) throughout.

The Serpent

Throughout our beautiful and complicated world, the Serpent holds multiple meanings, many of them positive. A serpent represents rebirth, transformation, healing, wisdom, and the creative life force. We can see ourselves in the serpent. Time and time again we shed our skin and are born anew, we have wisdom far beyond what we can possibly understand, and creativity, well, Serpent, you get me and I get you.

Rhythmic Hues

After spending time this spring break embracing all that nature is, it’s clear that nature has it’s own rhythm. It’s filled with color, breathing through the transitions of life to death, and life growing from that death once again.

Old Trees

Tribute to old trees. I loved hanging out in the high-to-me branches of the tree in my front yard, my favorite hangout when I was a kid. “So from my eyes the message lingers, old trees give charm and character.” Zoom in to see the quote embedded in the painting.

Make Peace with Reflection

When I was about 16 or so, I went to a family camp in Big Sur with my mom and my brother.  There was a young kiddo there who, with great authority, told me one day, "You're going to be a funny looking adult." Pretty sure I gave him my best stink eye and wandered off with a new friend I'd made. Well, I can't begin to tell you how many times in my life that little kiddo's words have echoed in my head as I've done this adult thing. An inopportune reflection in a mirror...an unflattering photo..."Oh, fudge, I AM a funny looking adult!" Oy. Thankfully, the older I get the more at peace I've become with reflecting upon my reflection.

"Make Peace with Reflection."

Letting Things Go

Is it too soon to be dreaming about winter weather?
