A dear friend who holds an incredibly special and magical place in my heart commissioned this piece.
May we all create connections, from the most microscopic to the broadest reaches of our imaginations.

"Start over, my darling. Be brave enough to find the life you want and courageous enough to chase it.
Then start over and love yourself the way you were always meant to."
-Madalyn Beck
My Process: I crumpled the paper, as often happens to our hearts, and slowly added layer after layer finding new pathways. While it will never be restored as before, uncrumpled, it has found its way to beauty and a new life.
I've been working on a commissioned piece and my pieces always have companion pieces that I work on during drying time. This one is particularly connected to the commissioned piece. I'll share it at some point soon.

The wholeness of us is the sum of our parts.

"Wonder is the beginning of wisdom."

Truth as old as time...I see it every day.

This piece is super tiny, only 3"x3". I love creating finished paintings on pieces of wood I've used as paint palettes. The final painting is the result of many happy accidents.

I began this as a test piece for a commission. After I learned from it what I needed to I kept adding layers...and then the cat appeared...right there at the bottom. We have cats. Two of them. And they are both totally quirky in polar opposite ways. I have absolutely no idea what goes through their heads or what motivates them to do the things they do. What I know for sure is that I both love it and totally don't get it.
Fun fact, while I was using a hair dryer to dry the final layers of this painting I turned the air flow just the right direction to accidentally blow a miniature easel holding a miniature painting I'd done a while back off of a shelf and directly into the toilet. Such a cat thing to do!
