The Stuff of Daydreams

As part of this amazing class I'm taking, Dancing with Your Dreams (lesson by Kristen Powers), I created a small piece about my favorite stuff of daydreams. This was super exciting for me because while I mostly remember my daydreams, I hardly ever remember my night dreams.

And what's awesome about what I daydream about is that when I'm actually doing the things I daydream about I'm at my peak of daydreaming. A lovely circle of daydreamness.

Fabulous daydream stuff...

Walk this Way

I rescue bugs a lot.  If you read this blog, you know it's true.  This morning as I walked on the hike and bike trail around the lake I spied a walking stick in my path.  It had stepped out from a crop of poison ivy and was just frozen there.  So of course I stopped, too.  I had to get that little guy out of danger.  I was on a mission.

I tried picking it up.  Nope.  I tried scooping it up.  Nope.  And then I tried poking its rear.  Yup!  Back into the poison ivy it ran.

My job was done.

A Walk in the Park

Managed to go to two grocery stores today.  And each boy went with me on one trip.  Kind of awesome that they'll still go shopping for groceries with me at 15 and 18.  I dig it.  Course one wanted some "say so" power about what I bought for the week, and the other wanted to be allowed to drive the car in a big empty parking lot on the way home...but hey, they wanted to go with me.

Anyway, my kids know I'm totally uninterested in finding a parking spot close to the entrance.  It's really not even on my priority list, so when I parked today, here's how it went.

Little guy:  "Really, mom?  Here?"

Me:  "Gosh, I remember you used to really like long walks with me in the park."

Little guy:  "But this is the PARKing LOT."

I suppose he has a point.  I also suppose the looooong walk was not at all unbearable.

Lost Focus

As I walked my dog last night, and she slowed to what I thought was to go potty, but then just kept walking and sniffing and walking and sniffing, and then she ran into a tree, it occurred to me just how much her behavior resembled all those folks who walk down the street with their eyes glued to their phones.  I wonder if they bump into trees, too.
