Graffiti Wall Bliss

I encourage everyone to have a graffiti space in their house. After all, you never know when you're going to get the urge to draw a bunch of flowers on your wall. So if you own your own home, have a really cool landlord, or even if you hang paper all over the wall, give it a go!

Through September 15, I will be donating 50% of all of my original art sales to the those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Here is the link to my online gallery.

Click on "Available" to see my available work. If you're in Austin leave a comment if you'd like to purchase something...there's no need for you to pay the shipping costs if you can pick it up at my place. Thank you for supporting my fundraising efforts!!!

Stillness in the Midst of Chaos

"Art has something to do with the achievement
of stillness in the midst of chaos."
-Saul Bellow

I'm officially madly in love with that quote.

For the Love of her Boys

Last night, like most weekend nights, there was a boy fest here at our place.  Thing is, our sweet dog, Hazel, is convinced that she is one of the boys.  So when they closed the bedroom door at about 1:00 AM leaving her on the outside, she fell into deep despair.

She came into our room and whimpered endlessly.  She jumped onto our bed and shook with sadness.  She sighed often and heavily driving us absolutely nuts.

So after trying unsuccessfully to sleep with my head completely covered by our duvet for at least an hour, I got up, opened the boys door just a Hazel's width, let her scurry in, and returned to my bed.

And "Zzzzzzzzzzzz" filled the house.

Seeing Things the Same Way

It's official.  The kid and I see things the same exact way.  Now this most definitely does not mean that we agree on everything.  Decidedly not.  But the way we do see things now is exactly the same.  It has to be true.  A doctor told us.

Ya see, the thing is we now have the exact same contact lens prescription.  Mind you, I need reading glasses with 'em to see up close, but if something is in the distance we see things the exact same way.

It's a baby step to getting him to agree with me about everything, right?

Wonderful Way to Start the Day

What makes a great start to my day?

Texts and a phone call from the district saying that we have a two hour delay for the start of school today.  I dunno why...there's absolutely no precipitation.  But thank you very much!

Then our kitten walks up the length of my body all the way to my face, reaches out, and gently taps me on the nose with his paw.

I swear he's a tiny fairy and he put a little spell on me to go back to sleep.

Bliss...Zzzzzzzzzz....
