Close to her Heart

Loved creating her! I used all different kinds of media...ink sprays, alcohol ink, Posca pens, acrylics, graphite. I loved how the ink sprays and alcohol ink insisted on their presence being known and refused to be covered. It lent to the translucent quality of the figure. I've never done an upward facing figure so this was so much fun to work on (and through as it took a while). I'm super happy with how she turned out. She exudes light and love.

Emerging from the Old Masters

Making a mess and then drawing over it...this may be my new favorite thing!

Who's to Say What's Normal?

As someone who has always felt on the outskirts of normal, both in personality and appearance, this was a wonderful piece to create. With its background of chaos, the prickly barb wire that both protects and does self harm, and the attention drawn to difference...well, I get this girl.

Altar

I created a two dimensional altar of important parts of my life. Can you guess what they are?

Self Compassion

It's a crazy thing how much compassion we can have for others, yet we give ourselves so little of it. I really enjoyed pondering that and being intentional about giving myself a bit of compassion as well.
