Bonded by our Roots

Lucky for me, just as I was starting this piece a friend dropped off an Anthropologie catalog. All those textures are so inspiring for collage! If you've got some, send them my way.

And then There's Joy

After feeling more focused and serious with my art yesterday, it was so much fun to release my inner child and go all in with whimsy today.

Be the change...

I'm filled with gratitude today as I had the pleasure and privilege to be with two beautiful friends who experienced 9-11 in a very close and personal way. I began my day with one of of them and later shared in a celebration with the other...both spoke of that day fifteen years ago. These women each bring peace to our world by living Gandhi's words, "Be the change you wish to see in this world."

As I painted these flowers and was reminded of the magnitude of this date, these twin flowers came to represent the events of that morning and the possibilities that are left for the rest of us to guide.

We can all "Be the change..."

Abundance

So a funny thing happened on the way to the finish line with this painting. I was laying down the paint for the flowers and my big cat, Pug, lay down beside the painting and flopped his tail right where I'd just put some orange. He then flopped his tail up and "painted" one of our chairs and then he flopped his tail to the side and "painted" my shorts. Love collaborating creatively with you, Pug!!!
