With Thoughts Above

I started this piece as part of a 30 day challenge. My intent was to add layers each day for 30 days. But I was feeling as I always do with abstract-ish work...I never know when the right time to stop is. I'd decided that I was going to add a statement when I did my daily facebook posts of my progress that I'd be super happy to sell it at any point during the 30 days. I thought it would be absolutely fabulous to have help deciding when it was finished. Within minutes of this thought crossing my mind, someone did just that! I'm so happy and honored that they love it at its day 7 "as is".


I've decided that I'm going to do a series of 15 day challenge abstract paintings. Stepping into Klimt's Shoes

It's amazing how much you can learn by doing your own version of a master's painting. Layer upon layer, detail upon detail. I wonder if Klimt's layers look at all like my own...did we take similar steps to end up at a similar ending point? Gosh, I'd love to know.
