In Her Own Skin

When I started this painting I sketched her body with charcoal and then went over it with gesso creating a soft gray outline. I looked at her for quite a while and couldn't help but think just how beautiful the female form all its shapes and sizes. I go walking on the trails quite regularly and I marvel at all the beauty I'm witness to. I love how we are all so amazing no matter our form. I scribed my thoughts on this subject across her body and I truly felt altered. I considered having this be her finished stage, but my vision of what I'd originally set out to do kept me going and I'm so glad it did.
