"Color, even more than drawing, is a means of liberation."
-Henri Matisse
Sometimes it's a bit of a challenge to see the brightness in life, particularly as we dull our senses in order to take care of ourselves. Each day as I walk my sweet Ellie Mae around our new neighborhood, my mind wanders from things that weigh me down to being drawn to the deep greens of the enormous Douglas Firs overhead, the bright red of the autumn turning Maples, and near the end of my path, the Roses of all shades that I pause beside to take in the fragrance...every single time. Color is liberation.
