Me: "I got some new cowboy boots today."
Little guy: "That's cool."
Me: "Do you ever want some boots?"
Little guy: "I don't like boots."
Me: "Why?!?! What's not to like about cowboy boots?"
Little guy: "I can't actually walk in them."
Me: "Oh, I probably trained you to think that when you were a little boy."
Little guy: "What?"
Me: "Yeah, when I needed to get you to slow down I'd just put cowboy boots on your feet. You loved them and didn't even notice how much they inhibited your movement."
Little guy: "That was mean, mom."
Me: "Hey, that's what you get for starting walking at only eight months old. Now that was mean, dude. Your mama was tired!"
